Hi, I'm Sarah

Sarah Smith, M.S., CCC-SLP, CLC
Speech Language Pathologist, Feeding Specialist, & Lactation Counselor
Hi! I'm Sarah, a speech pathologist, feeding specialist, and mom. I am so glad you are here.
I'll never forget the day I sat in my graduate school class on dysphagia (swallowing disorders) and learned about the clinicians helping kids learn to eat. I knew instantly that was what I wanted to do with my career. And so over the last decade I have worked tirelessly towards that goal, reading every research article and taking every training course I could find. I have specialized exclusively in the world of infant and pediatric feeding; working with critically ill infants in the NICU; helping babies transition from bottle to table foods; and navigating picky eating with toddlers and their families. I've met families from all walks of life, and shared joy and heartbreak with them as we navigated together through their feeding journeys. The best part of my job is watching feeding go from something that is stressful to something that is joyful for everyone involved.
After the birth of my first son in 2020, navigating a challenging feeding journey of our own--in which I played the part of the caregiver--and a little thing called a global pandemic, I decided to follow my heart and open my own private practice to support families in the greater Rochester/Finger Lakes region struggling with mealtimes. My unique experience as both parent and specialist sets me apart--as does my continued work as a NICU SLP. Whether I'm by your baby's isolette or sitting at your kitchen table, my goal is the same: to lay the foundation of your little one's lifelong relationship with eating, and provide you with the support you need to keep building it up.
Today, I provide in-home and virtual therapy visits to families across New York. I love what I do, and I hope you will too.
